Unsolved threads
Five mystery and detective novels that reward patience. Each book in this collection layers clues across unreliable narrators and shifting timelines, making re-reading just as thrilling as the first encounter.
We curate reading paths that connect you to stories you didn't know you needed. Whether you devour novels in a weekend or savour a chapter each night, our handpicked book collections meet you exactly where you are.
Find your next chapterYour reading journey
Finding a book that truly resonates shouldn't feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. We break the process into four thoughtful steps.
Tell us what genres, themes, and moods appeal to you. We listen to the nuances — whether you prefer slow literary fiction, fast-paced thrillers, or sweeping historical sagas. Your preferences shape every recommendation we make.
Our team assembles a personalised reading path — a sequence of three to five books that build on each other thematically. Each path is designed to deepen your engagement with a genre or introduce you to adjacent territories you might love.
There are no deadlines, no pressure. We provide companion notes, discussion prompts, and context for each book so you can engage as deeply or casually as you wish. Reading should feel like breathing, not homework.
Connect with other readers on the same path through our quarterly meet-ups and online discussion circles. Sharing a book with someone who understands its weight is one of the great pleasures of reading.
Curated shelves
Each collection is assembled around a theme, a question, or a feeling — not just a genre label. Browse our current offerings below.

Contemporary literary fiction by debut and underrepresented authors. These stories centre experiences often left at the edges of mainstream publishing — immigrant journeys, rural isolation, and intergenerational silence.
Speculative fiction that predicted our present. From surveillance states to climate collapse, these books written decades ago read like dispatches from tomorrow. Ideal for readers who enjoy ideas that linger long after the last page.
Nature writing and eco-literature rooted in Australian and Pacific landscapes. These authors treat the land as a character — listening to country, documenting change, and questioning our place within ecosystems.

Common questions
Each collection begins with a central question or emotional thread. Our editorial team reads widely and shortlists titles that speak to that thread from different angles. We prioritise diversity of voice, narrative structure, and cultural perspective. A book earns its place when it adds something the other titles in the path don't — a contrasting viewpoint, a different narrative form, or a deeper layer of complexity.
We suggest a sequence because each book builds on themes introduced by the previous one, but you are welcome to read in any order. The companion notes reference connections between titles, so following the suggested path tends to deepen the experience — though skipping around has its own rewards.
Absolutely. We offer bespoke reading paths for groups of four or more. Tell us about your club's reading history, the themes you want to explore, and any constraints (length, content sensitivity, availability) and we will assemble a path with full companion notes and discussion prompts tailored to your group.
We recommend formats but do not sell the books directly. Most titles in our collections are available in print, e-book, and audiobook through major retailers and local libraries. We include format availability notes in every reading path so you can choose what suits your lifestyle.
Our online discussion circles are free and open to anyone following a current reading path. Quarterly in-person meet-ups in regional Victoria have a small venue fee to cover space hire and refreshments — typically around fifteen dollars. Custom book club paths carry a one-time curation fee that varies by scope.
